No Tricks, Just Treats!

Let’s make Halloween successful for our kiddos with autism this year. If you’re new to autism, Halloween can bring some really interesting challenges for our kids like:

  • Itchy, smelly, uncomfortable and scary costumes

  • Decorations that jump out at you

  • Strangers demanding that you say “Trick or Treat”

  • Houses that give out treats that I don’t like

  • Safety challenges - bolting into traffic or other people’s homes

We are here to help! Watch our Facebook and Instagram the month of October for tips and ideas like the ones below, for you to use this fun, spooky season! And as always, if you have questions or need help brainstorming for ideas, reach out to us!

Feel free to download these helpful cards to hand out when your trick or treating. It helps your neighbors understand the challenges your child is facing. It’s a great way to spread some autism awareness!
